Sometimes a portion of the front surface of your tooth may be need to be removed to accommodate the veneer. This will consist mainly of enamel, and it is roughly equal in thickness to an egg shell. Next, a mold is taken of your tooth and the surrounding teeth, which will be used to craft your veneer to your smile’s exact specifications.
In about two weeks, your veneers will be ready for placement. You will return for a second visit that will begin with the dentist creating small etchings in the surface of your tooth, which will help the bonding agent hold the veneer in place. Before applying the bonding agent, the dentist will hold the veneer up to your tooth to ensure it will fit properly. Next, the bonding agent is placed on the tooth, followed by the veneer.
